Rhapsody in Blue
On Tuesday, October 8, the photo exhibition “Rhapsody in Blue” by the author Daria Šesto was officially opened in the gallery “St. Nikola Tavelić”.
In this exhibition, the author presents abstract macrophotographs taken with UV lighting, and the “models” are different organic structures. UV fluorescence also reveals “additives” on their surfaces, such as traces of chemicals, pesticides and pieces of microplastic.
Ultraviolet photography is something relatively few photographers explore, but it is a fascinating area to experiment with.
Darija Nonveiller Šesto, doctor of medicine by profession, was born in 1948 in Zagreb. She has been a member of the Photo Club Zagreb since 2010, when she began to engage in photography more intensively. In the beginning, she exhibited at collective and competitive exhibitions in the club in Croatia. Encouraged by her first successes, she began participating in international competitions and salons around the world. Her works were accepted at more than 200 competitions where she won over 30 awards and participated in about a hundred group exhibitions. She is most proud of her 13 solo exhibitions in London, Uppsala, Zagreb, Šibenik, Split and Samobor. She holds the honorary title of AFIAP.
The exhibition remains open until November 7 and admission is free.
