She who removes shackles
The book “She who removes shackles – the Vrpolje shrine through the centuries” by Ana Plenča was presented in the multimedia hall On Friday, November 10.
The book takes us to Vrpolje, to the shrine of Our Lady of Vrpolje with the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, wanting to encourage and prepare us for a pilgrimage with a series of documentary data, pictorial representations and rich textual content that the author came up with through her own enthusiasm and research in the field of art history.
The young author was born in Zagreb on May 4, 2020, where she completed elementary school and the Classical High School and enrolled in art history and Turkology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb. In September 2021, she obtained the academic title of a university bachelor’s degree in art history and Turkology, and continues her studies on the Renaissance and Baroque module.
At the presentation of the book, along with representatives of cultural institutions, public and religious institutions, Msgr. Ante Ivas, bishop of Šibenik in peace and Željko Burić, mayor of Šibenik.
The book was presented by the author Ana Plenča and the retired vicar Don Stipe Perkov, and Bishop Ivas greeted those present at the promotion of the book.
