Announcement of the panel discussion
On Friday, October 3, as part of the “European Heritage Days” event, a panel discussion “In the Footsteps of Ivan Vitić” will be held in the multimedia hall, organized by the Juraj Šižgorić City Library, Šibenik.
This year, the “European Heritage Days” are taking place under the slogan “Architectural Heritage: A Window to the Past, a Look into the Future”, and are especially dedicated to marking two significant anniversaries. It is half a century since the proclamation of the European Year of Architectural Heritage (1975-2025), which for the first time drew stronger attention to the preservation and valuation of cultural architectural heritage, while at the same time marking the fortieth anniversary of the adoption of the International Convention for the Protection of the European Architectural Heritage in Granada (1985-2025), a document that establishes the principles of comprehensive and systematic protection of architectural heritage.
The panel discussion will begin at 10:30 AM and will cover the role of European values in architecture, the importance of contemporary revitalization projects for the preservation of architectural heritage, and the contribution of Ivan Vitić in Šibenik, with a special emphasis on the Library, which is currently undergoing an energy renovation project.
The panel will serve as a platform for the exchange of experiences, ideas, and visions about architecture in the city.
