Announcement of the exhibition about the bećarac
From Monday, November 3, the exhibition ”A Phenomenon in Two Verses: Bećarac” will be set in the Centre’s gallery.
The traditional ten-line song in two verses, characteristic of the region of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, has always attracted attention. The sung oral tradition that is passed down from generation to generation carries different messages, a multitude of transmitted meanings and provocations.
The exhibition aims to present bećarac as a national heritage that emerges from the past and is renewed in everyday situations to the present day.
The organizer is the Bećarac Museum – Pleternica, and the exhibition can be viewed until November 15.
