Drop by drop

On Monday, May 18, Jadranka Skelin’s fourth solo exhibition, titled “Kap po kap” (Drop by Drop), opened with a special ceremony.

Born in Zagreb in 1965, she graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb, specializing in painting under the mentorship of Professors Dolenc and Malešević.

After marrying in 1986, she moved to Šibenik, where her dream of becoming a “great” painter took a back seat to family responsibilities. Once her children had grown, her enduring love for painting, which she had never truly let go of, was rekindled after twenty-five years; she subsequently enrolled in a course led by academic painter Lana Martinović-Čala. Driven by this passion and the friendship shared with fellow students, she helped found the “Tempera” Association of Amateur Artists, of which she is now the president. The members work and socialize together, exhibiting their art in Šibenik, Knin, Rogoznica, and beyond.

As her passion grew, she continued to hone her artistic skills under the guidance of academic painter Kseniya Noryk, who served as her mentor and provided immense support in bringing this exhibition to fruition.
She is a member of the Šibenik branch of Matica hrvatska.

The “Kap po kap” exhibition features recent works in which Jadranka Skelin explores the sea – an eternal and almost inevitable theme for Dalmatian art enthusiasts.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and it remains open until May 29.
