Croatian Woman Šibenik

On Saturday, September 23, the association “Croatian Woman” Šibenik celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The Šibenik branch of the Association was founded on September 16, 1993, in the midst of the Homeland War, on the second anniversary of the attack on Šibenik. The beginning of the association’s work was marked by the Homeland War, assistance to Croatian veterans and their families, widows of Croatian veterans. The association is one of the initiators of the Provita campaign, aid to newborn children, which was later continued through the diocesan Caritas. In later periods, the Association found ways to do good and help all ages, from the smallest to the oldest, up to the third age by visiting Maternity Hospitals and Nursing Homes, and helping people with special needs.
After the mass celebration in the Cathedral of St. James led by the Bishop of Šibenik Tomislav Rogić, a solemn session was held in the multimedia hall of the Interpretation Centre.
The president of the association, Ankica Šego, sent words of greeting and thanks. Retired Bishop Ante Ivas, who supported the “Croatian Woman” throughout his episcopal service, spoke on the occasion. Antonija Šare, a member of the association, gave a brief historical account of the activities of the association. The musical part of the assembly was attended by Pivači sv. Jakova.
At the end of the session, gathered went to the gallery to see the exhibition that shows the association’s work over the past thirty years.
