The Draušnik Duo

The Draušnik Duo presented itself to the Šibenik audience last Friday as part of the Šibenik Music Evenings inside the multimedia hall.
Martin Draušnik is a versatile musician whose field of activity extends from solo performances and recitals through numerous chamber ensembles to concertmaster of various orchestras, both chamber and symphony. Since 2010, he has been working at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, first as an assistant, and now as an associate professor. He graduated in violin at the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of Maja Dešpalj-Begović. He continued his education, as a scholarship holder of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, in the class of Latica Honde-Rosenberg. Further training followed at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, where he completed solo studies in the class of one of the world’s most famous violinists, Ingolf Turban. Finally, he expanded his education to the viola, which he graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of Aleksandar Milošev.
He plays on a violin built by Fabrice Girardino from 2000.
Zita Draušnik began studying the cello at the age of six at the Music School in Varaždin in the class of Dario Milković, and continued at the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of Valter Dešpalj. She is a laureate of numerous international competitions such as the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Prague, the International Cello Competition David Popper in Budapest, the Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, the International Cello Competition Alpe-Adria in Gorizia, Italy, and the Croatian State Competition for Pupils and Students of Music and Dance in Rijeka.
They performed works by Glière, Bach, M. Miletić, Ysaÿe, and Halvorsen for the Šibenik audience. We bring you a part of the atmosphere in the photos.
