The Interpretation Centre of the Cathedral of St James

It has been exactly one year since the Interpretation Centre ”Civitas Sacra” officially opened its doors.

During these 365 days, our Centre was visited by many visitors: children of kindergarten age, schoolchildren, students, pilgrims, dedicated people, representatives of state and local authorities …

Many schools have chosen our Centre as a place for fieldwork, multimedia hall was used for education, lectures, seminars, congresses, book promotions, events and various workshops, including a photo workshop organized by the Centre, which was moved from the gallery for occasional exhibitions due to great interest. The gallery space has been the “temporary home” of many paintings and sculptures in these 12 months.

The first year we will certainly remember by two significant awards: “Award of the City of Šibenik” for the implementation of the project and the valorization of the cultural heritage of the Cathedral of St. James and Galbiani Palace, and the “Golden Bowl” of Šibenik-Knin County for Innovation of the Year.

Unfortunately, the first year was marked by the temporary closure of the Centre due to the new situation with Covid-19, but from this week we are with you again and continue to work with many interesting ideas and projects.

Dear friends, on Wednesday, May 13, Interpretation Centre ”Civitas Sacra” celebrates its 1st birthday and on that occasion the entrance will be free all day (groups over 5 people with prior notice). The working hours of the Centre are from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a break for disinfection from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All interested visitors will be able to view the exhibition free of charge on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, during working hours from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a break for disinfection from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Groups over 5 people need to be announced in advance.
