First independent exhibition of Antonela Knežević
The gallery “St. Nikola Tavelić” was too small for all those who wanted to attend the grand opening of the first solo exhibition of the young Antonela Knežević.
A fourteen-year-old student of the 8th grade of the Vrpolje Elementary School, developed a special love for drawing and painting at the age of kindergarten. She attended painting courses at the Lana Art Gallery for five years, under the mentorship of academic painter Lana Martinović Čala (2015-2020).
Through her acquaintance with painting and its historical periods, as well as through her acquaintance with painting techniques, Antonela found a great love for sacral painting, which became the main theme and inspiration for her works.
Her favorite techniques are charcoal and pencil, acrylic, dry pastel and watercolor.
The young author has participated in numerous art workshops and competitions and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work. Although only fourteen years old, Antonela’s numerous paintings and drawings adorn the walls of houses and monasteries and she already receives orders for artwork.
Last night, about Antonela and her work, spoke the deputy director of the Vrpolje Elementary School, Stipe Komadina, and the academic sculptor and art pedagogue, Milena Mikulandra, Antonela’s co-mentor.
Antonela herself thanked everyone who came to the opening and everyone who was and still is her support on her creative path.
Anamarija and Tomislav Junaković embellished the ceremony with their song.
The organizers of the exhibition are Vrpolje Elementary School and the Catholic Elementary School Šibenik.
The exhibition remains open until June 15, and admission is free.
